NOTE LOCATION CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER – We will now be holding the ceremony at Point of Grace Church in Pflugerville. Address is below.
Come out to celebrate your Girl Scout’s accomplishments during the 2022-23 scouting year.
Who’s Being Celebrated?
Every girl attending will be recognized in some way. We will celebrate:
- the girls who are moving up a level
- badge accomplishments
- community service
- higher awards
- volunteering
- cookies sales
- fall product sales
Who’s Invited?
Moms, dads, siblings, uncles, aunts, grandmas, grandpas, cousins, neighbors, friends, anyone who loves your scout!
It’s a Potluck!
Please bring a main dish, side dish, dessert, or snack to share. If your food item contains nuts, please make sure it is appropriately marked. The troop will be providing a cake at the end of the ceremony.
It’s a ceremony!
Please have your Girl Scout wear her formal uniform. This consists of a white shirt, khaki bottoms, and her current vest/sash/tunic.
FAQs
Bridging is a beloved Girl Scout tradition that honors girls’ achievements throughout the year and celebrates their “crossing the bridge” to the next Girl Scout level.
Even if your Scout is still staying at the same level, we will celebrate her accomplishments.
Girls who are now in 1st grade will move up to become Brownies.
Girls who are now in 3rd grade will move up to become Juniors.
Girls who are now in 5th grade will move up to become Cadettes (and middle schoolers — how crazy is that?!)
Girls who are now in 8th grade will move up to become Seniors (and high schoolers — how crazy is that?!)
Girls who are now in 10th grade will move up to become Ambassadors.
During the ceremony, your girl’s leader will take off her current vest/tunic/sash before she crosses the bridge. You can put her new vest/sash on her when she gets back to her seat. Remember, she can earn badges at her new level right away and she will love showing off her new uniform!
If you don’t have time to get a new vest/sash, it won’t matter. We just want to celebrate moving to the next level!
Check out photos from last year. But this year, the ceremony will be a bigger deal — with food and a REAL bridge (over a dry creek but still). We really want to celebrate everything we have done in the past year and enjoy some fellowship with all our families, even the girls who aren’t bridging.
We are trying to find another location in the event that we have a wet day (highly likely at the moment.) We’ll keep you posted!
