Location: Colorado River

Canoe Outfitter: River Forest Haven 

Campground: Sacred Gaia Resorts

Cost: $170 includes transportation to and from camp and launch, firewood, propane, 2 nights camping in yurt, canoe, personal flotation device, paddle. We will analyze our food budget and make adjustments when we return.

In the event of inclement weather, the trip will be cancelled. 

Required Action Before Trip

Suggested Packing List per Participant (Do not bring anything in the canoe the you cannot loose.)

Positive Attitude

Medication (Please give to Ms. Tracy)

Water shoes such as Keen sandals (very expensive) or similar or water socks. Please do not spend a lot of money for shoes or equipment you will wear two days. Old tennis shoes are acceptable. Water proof shoes (e.g. Goretex or rain shoes) are not recommended. Remember Girl Scouts of Central Texas requires closed toed shoes.

Sunday, March 16

4:30 p Meet at Living Spaces

5:15 p Arrive at Sacred Gaia Resorts

Unpack, set up camp

5:45 p Pizza Dinner

10 Lights out

Monday, March 17

7 am Breakfast: eggs, pancakes, fruit, juice, coffee

7:30 am River Forest Haven picks us up and takes us to put in location

8 am On the water

Stop for lunch (sandwiches) and breaks as needed

1:30 ish Back to camp

5:45 Dinner: Walking Tacos (Fritos, ground beef, chicken, shredded cheese, lettuce, salsa)

Tuesday, March 18

8 am Pack up camp

8:30 am Breakfast: same as Monday

9 am Paddle to River Forest Haven

Noon Bus to Sacred Gaia Resorts

12:15 lunch (sandwiches)

12:45 head to Pflugerville

1:15 Living Spaces

 

Potties and Periods

There is not toilet on the route. If you are on your period, Ms. Lisa suggests tampons or period panties/swim bottoms.

The toilet in camp is the dry flush style.

There is potable running water in camp and one on-demand hot water shower.
