Our country is EGYPT!
World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship and a time to stand up for causes that could improve the lives of girls around the globe. The official date is in February, but it can be celebrated any time of year. The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), which you—as a Girl Scout—are part of, has celebrated World Thinking Day since 1926.
Forest Trails Service Unit Celebrates World Thinking Day by traveling around the globe without leaving Round Rock! There are two ways to participate:
- Touring Troops. The girls (and tag-a-longs if you’d like) get a passport with a list of all the hosting countries. After the opening ceremony and parade, the tourists will visit each booth (in any order) and learn about the hosting country for that booth. Be sure to get your passport stamped! Full passports get a prize.
- Hosting Troops. Each booth should have a display, and three of the following: food (please no nuts and label food with any potential allergens), craft (nothing messy or with glitter), song, dance, game. The girls are encouraged to dress in outfits representative of the country they’re hosting. During the parade, the girls will walk up on stage carrying their country’s flag (poster board size preferred), say “hello” in the language of their country, give a fact about their country, say “friend or friendship” in the language of their country and then say “goodbye”. Hosting troops are required to have at least half their participants at the booth helping with crafts, songs, stamping passports, etc. while the other half become tourists. A rotation is required for this.
Our Troop will be hosting and touring!
- Daisies will learn and perform a dance from the country.
- Brownies will learn and share a game from the country.
- Juniors will create an Informational Display and learn and perform a song from the country.
- Cadettes will plan a craft about the country and show other girls how to make it.

The girls will also be in a parade at the event where they will share:

- and then say “goodbye”
