Outdoor Cooking Requirements

For the Outdoor Cooking badge, per the Facebook event:

All ages of girls will meet to learn about Outdoor Cooking. We will do some box cooking as well as cooking with personal campstoves. Personal stoves will be available on a FCFS basis with preference being for older girls first. Bring a canned food item to cook (soup, veggies, ramen, etc) Box cooking will be for the entire group. If you’d like to make your own box oven, see this link. You may make it there or bring it. Don’t forget to bring your food with you to cook.

If you missed the event, here are some activities you can do:

  • Complete the activities in this workbook, focusing on pages 4-7.  The idea is to learn about types of outdoor cooking and food safety.
  • Choose a method to prepare a meal outdoors. Some meal ideas are on page 2 of the workbook.

When you are done with this activity, please fill out this form so we can get your patch to you.
